Concerned Citizens Party Of Connecticut CONCERNED CITIZENS PARTY OF CONNEC'l'ICUT PLATFORM
Preamble This Party welcomes all concerned citizens who want a government which supports morality in society. We seek to elect to office qualified people who support such principles as strong family values, honesty, chastity, respect for others, and respect for human life from conception to natural death. This Party was started by people who believe that God created the universe and all that is therein, and that His supreme creation is man, who is made in the image of God; people who believe that life begins at conception and that no person has the right to destroy life; people who believe that the state should encourage its citizens to pray to their Creator in public as well as private places. Government should not impede in any way any person, in or out of public office, from acknowledging God. The Concerned Citizens Party was formed by a group of people who were weary of a state that seems to encourage waste and influence-peddling. Our primary goal is to represent the citizens of Connecticut by creating a government that has open lines of communication with each taxpayer. The outcome of such efforts will be legislation which represents the common man and not special interests. A refreshing and momentous outcome will be a government that helps people rather than a government that hurts or destroys people such as by overtaxation. Overtaxation puts stress on human survival and family integrity. CCP PLATFORM I PLANKS 1. RIGHT TO LIFE We support efforts to protect all human beings during all stages of their existence. Thus we oppose abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide, and all other practices which threaten to destroy our weak or vulnerable fellow humans. Human right to life is the most basic of all human rights and has priority over other rights. Only candidates who advocate protection of the unborn from the moment of conception can be supported. Resolved: the CCP shall not endorse or distribute, allocate, ,contribute to, solicit funds for, or support in any way whatsoever any candidate who does not pledge and act to defend, and promote, the inviolabe right to life of innocent human beings from the moment of conception to natural death without exception. 2. ENVIRONMENT Concerned Citizens has been active at the local level with environmental issues. We pledge to protect the environment created by God, and strongly encourage conservation. We stress that humans are the most precious and valuable members of the environment, and that all enviromental policies must first take into account the inherent dignity and supreme value of humans. 3. TAXES We oppose a state income tax. We support reasonable efforts to lower taxes such as by reduced spending, and the elimination of mismanagement and inefficiency. 4. EDUCATION Spending more on education does not necessarily mean better education. We believe that more thought needs to be put into the way we educate future generations, rather than how much we spend. We believe in competitive education. The government should not have a monopoly over children's minds. Parents have the primary right to direct the education of their children. 5. TRANSPORTATION It is time to return to a system of dedicated funding, for under such a system taxes from items such as gasoline would be earmarked exclusively for the dedicated purpose.
